Ronald Tree Nursery School

Vacancies

We are looking to appoint a School Business Manager from 26th March 2025:

  • 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm
  • NJC Grade I, scale point 22 to 26 (£32,654-£36.124 FTE)
  • Permanent Contract for 42 weeks per year (term time and training days plus 3 weeks)
  • Start Date: ideally 26th March 2025

The successful candidate will be self motivated but a team player at heart, able to see the value to the children in all they do. They will have excellent communication, financial and analytical skills, and will work closely with the Head Teacher and with the office and premises staff. The key purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth operation of the Financial, Facilities, Marketing, Health and Safety, and HR/Payroll aspects of the school. The SBM is a member of the school’s Senior Management Team and is an associate member of the Governing Body, providing support and advice as required.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced colleagues already in an SBM post (you will find that the role is subtly different in a maintained nursery compared to a primary setting) or for an aspiring School Business Manager with experience of working in a busy school office.

We recommend that prospective candidates visit the school to experience what a unique setting this is. If you wish to organise a visit or for further information please contact the school office on 01536-514240 or email bursar@ronaldtreenursery.co.uk

Ronald Tree Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo vetting appropriate to the post, including a social media presence check and Enhanced DBS check as well as a pre-employment medical check.

If you have previously lived or worked abroad a Certificate of Good Conduct may be required.

Ronald Tree Nursery School is committed to creating a diverse workforce and all candidates will be treated solely on the basis of their merits, abilities and potential. We will consider all suitably qualified applicants for employment and do not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of any protected characteristic.

Please apply online including a letter of application by 4pm Friday 7th February 2025.

Interviews will take place the week beginning 10th February 2025. References will be sought prior to interview.
