Curriculum Information and Nursery Leaflets
These principles underpin everything in the EYFS:
- A unique child - Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured;
- Positive Relationships - Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person;
- Enabling Environments - The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning;
- Learning and Development - Children develop and learn in different ways at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and interconnected.
"Play underpins the delivery of all of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children must have opportunities to play indoors and outdoors. Providing well planned experiences based on children’s spontaneous play both indoors and outdoors, is an important way in which practitioners support young children to learn with enjoyment and challenge."
The Early Years Foundation Stage Practice Guidance
Our RT curriculum document has been created with the whole team since our most recent Ofsted. It combines aspects from a wide range of research and guidance. It shares our curriculum intent and the skills progression and knowledge on which we base our learning opportunities.
The 'What to Expect in the EYFS September 2021' is aimed at parents and covers birth to five - including the Reception Year in primary school - and has been written by The Foundation Years Forum. It is highly recommended.
