SureStart Children's Centre
Welcome to your Children’s Centre. At Ronald Tree we offer lots of fun experiences and workshops for you to explore with your child. The Children’s Centre officially opened in November 2007, and has continued to offer families a wide range of activities.
Our Stay-and-Play sessions provide an opportunity for you and your child to play together and build friendships with other parents. We have lots of sessions for you and your baby including baby massage, a breastfeeding support group and a baby stay-and-play. A Health Visitor regularly attends our centre to provide advice on weaning and can weigh your baby.
We have a number of sessions that embrace children’s love for music and rhymes including Wiggle-and-Jiggle; Rhymetime and Big About Music. As well as experiences for children we offer a crèche alongside workshops for parents. Topics include positive parenting skills, IT skills, preparing for school, basic first aid, toddler tips and well-being.
If you are looking for some inspiration in the kitchen, why not try our Cooking-on-a-budget workshops with hands-on demonstrations. We have a regular Saturday group just for Dads and male carers; these sessions provide an opportunity for Dads to play with their children and get involved in woodwork, construction, sport and games. All our sessions are free and open to parents and carers of children under 5.
Our friendly Information Officers can signpost you to other services such as Job Centre Plus, a benefits surgery and health trainers. They are also able to provide information about local childcare options.
Our current programme can be accessed on this web page, please call in to any ‘drop-in’ sessions or book for one of our workshops, we can guarantee you a warm welcome. If you would like to discuss any activity prior to attending please call one of our Information Officers.
We look forward to seeing you
